Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains what information LumosPay ("we", "us") collects when you visit lumospay.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you. It applies to this website only and not to third-party sites we link to.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your address and the contents of your message. We use it only to respond and to keep a record of corrections.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and analytics receive technical information: IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the time and duration of the visit.
Interaction events. We record aggregate events such as page views and clicks on interactive elements so we can understand which articles are useful. These events are not used to build profiles for sale.
2. How we use information
- To deliver and secure the website and to diagnose technical faults.
- To measure audience size and understand which topics readers value.
- To respond to messages, tips and correction requests.
- To display advertising and measure its performance.
- To detect fraud, abuse and automated traffic.
3. Advertising and third-party ad partners
LumosPay is funded by advertising. We use Google Ad Manager and its associated demand partners to serve display advertising on this site. These partners may set or read cookies, mobile advertising identifiers or similar technologies on your device in order to:
- Select and deliver advertisements to you.
- Limit how many times you see the same advertisement (frequency capping).
- Measure whether an advertisement was viewed and whether it led to an action.
- In some regions and where permitted, personalise advertising based on inferred interests or previous browsing on other sites.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by Google at Google Ads Settings, and you can opt out of participating vendors at optout.aboutads.info.
Advertising partners act as independent controllers of the data they collect through these technologies. Their own privacy policies govern that processing, and we do not have access to or control over the cookies they set.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our partners use the following categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to load, remain secure and function correctly.
- Analytics — help us count visits and understand which content performs well.
- Advertising — used to select ads, cap frequency and measure ad performance.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can reset or disable your mobile advertising identifier in your device settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not remove advertising; it makes it less relevant.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data with service providers who host the site, deliver analytics and serve advertising, each acting under contract or as an independent controller as described above. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights and the security of the service.
6. Retention
Technical logs are kept for a limited period for security and diagnostics. Aggregate analytics are retained in summarised form. Email correspondence is kept as long as necessary to handle the matter and maintain our corrections record.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@lumospay.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Children
LumosPay is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes and contact
We update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@lumospay.com.
